5+1 Wedding photography tips for Couples

Welcome back to the Blog !

Obviously, your wedding day is one of the most magical days of your life, and your photos are the key to keeping those memories alive forever. As a wedding photographer, I would like to share a few tips on how to get the most out of your wedding photography experience.

1. Choose the right photographer

In your special day, the photographer will be with you throughout the day, so it is crucial to find a photographer that matches your style and personality.

  • Explore photographer’s website: Review the photos of other weddings to see their style. Can you see yourself in this images? If the answer is “yes”, then you should make the next step. If the answer is “no”, then keep looking !

  • Ask for a meeting: Schedule a consultation to ensure you meet comfortable with the photographer. Trust and connection lead to more natural and beautiful photos.

    2. Communicate your Vision

Your photographer wants to capture your unique story, and they can do it better with your help.

  • Create a shot list: Include the must-have moments, like the first kiss, family portraits and cake cutting.

  • Share inspiration: Bring examples of styles or specific shots you love. Remember to trust your photographer’s creativity!

  • Discuss the timeline: Work with your photographer to ensure there’s enough time for the key shots.

3. Prepare for the Wedding Day

Good preparation ensures a stress-free wedding photography experience! Let’s see three ways to achieve it :

  • Timeline, timeline and timeline! : It is very important to follow the timeline you will agree with the photographer. For example, 30 minutes delay of the make up preparation may lead to stressful situations, such as not having a lot of time for family photos.

  • Details Matter: Make sure your rings, shoes, invitations are ready for detail shots.

  • Groom’s Preparation: Guys! When you go to your friend’s preparation please wear your suit ! The photos in the groom’s preparation look awesome when all the guys are dressed nice.

4. Plan an Engagement Session

Engagement sessions can be very beneficial for you. Let’s see why:

  • Practice makes Perfect: Use this session to get comfortable in front of the camera, especially if you are an introvert person!

  • Build trust: Spend time with your photographer to create a relaxed dynamic.

  • After the shoot you can share your thoughts on what you’ve loved or what you’d like tweak for the wedding.

5. Build a Strong Relationship with your Photographer

Having a solid relationship with your photographer can enhance your experience. Share updates about your wedding plans and any specific requests you have. Furthermore, by introducing your photographer to key family members, you communicate to them who’s important for you and also create a more comfortable atmosphere.

Bonus Tip: Relax and be Present!

As a wedding photographer I strongly believe that a good wedding photo is the one that shows genuine emotions.

  • Please forget the camera is there and enjoy your special day.

  • Don’t stress about posing. Smiles, laughters and tears are totally accepted !!!

  • Trust your photographer: They know how to guide you into flattering poses and capture candid moments.
