5+1 Wedding photography tips for Couples
Welcome back to the Blog !
Obviously, your wedding day is one of the most magical days of your life, and your photos are the key to keeping those memories alive forever. As a wedding photographer, I would like to share a few tips on how to get the most out of your wedding photography experience.
1. Choose the right photographer
In your special day, the photographer will be with you throughout the day, so it is crucial to find a photographer that matches your style and personality.
Explore photographer’s website: Review the photos of other weddings to see their style. Can you see yourself in this images? If the answer is “yes”, then you should make the next step. If the answer is “no”, then keep looking !
Ask for a meeting: Schedule a consultation to ensure you meet comfortable with the photographer. Trust and connection lead to more natural and beautiful photos.
2. Communicate your Vision
Your photographer wants to capture your unique story, and they can do it better with your help.
Create a shot list: Include the must-have moments, like the first kiss, family portraits and cake cutting.
Share inspiration: Bring examples of styles or specific shots you love. Remember to trust your photographer’s creativity!
Discuss the timeline: Work with your photographer to ensure there’s enough time for the key shots.
3. Prepare for the Wedding Day
Good preparation ensures a stress-free wedding photography experience! Let’s see three ways to achieve it :
Timeline, timeline and timeline! : It is very important to follow the timeline you will agree with the photographer. For example, 30 minutes delay of the make up preparation may lead to stressful situations, such as not having a lot of time for family photos.
Details Matter: Make sure your rings, shoes, invitations are ready for detail shots.
Groom’s Preparation: Guys! When you go to your friend’s preparation please wear your suit ! The photos in the groom’s preparation look awesome when all the guys are dressed nice.
4. Plan an Engagement Session
Engagement sessions can be very beneficial for you. Let’s see why:
Practice makes Perfect: Use this session to get comfortable in front of the camera, especially if you are an introvert person!
Build trust: Spend time with your photographer to create a relaxed dynamic.
After the shoot you can share your thoughts on what you’ve loved or what you’d like tweak for the wedding.
5. Build a Strong Relationship with your Photographer
Having a solid relationship with your photographer can enhance your experience. Share updates about your wedding plans and any specific requests you have. Furthermore, by introducing your photographer to key family members, you communicate to them who’s important for you and also create a more comfortable atmosphere.
Bonus Tip: Relax and be Present!
As a wedding photographer I strongly believe that a good wedding photo is the one that shows genuine emotions.
Please forget the camera is there and enjoy your special day.
Don’t stress about posing. Smiles, laughters and tears are totally accepted !!!
Trust your photographer: They know how to guide you into flattering poses and capture candid moments.
Wedding photography is more than capturing photos - it is about preserving memories that tell the story of your love.
By choosing the right photographer, planning ahead, and staying present, you’ll ensure your photos are everything you’ve dreamed of and more!

Personal Journey
I remember the very first time I held a camera in my hands…
I remember the very first time I held a camera in my hands.
I was in the middle of high school and one of my classmates, Harris, a very talented guy, had brought his camera with him to our school trip in Italy. I promised myself (those big promises we gave ourselves when we were teenagers!) that with my first salary, I will buy myself a camera. Unfortunately, as you all know, not everything goes as planned in life and had to wait a few years and many salaries came by, in order to buy a camera. Actually, I almost forgot my promise, but the sparkle inside me didn’t. So, to make a long story short, after a few years one of my colleagues brought his new camera with him in our Sunday walk. And…that was it! The sparkle inside me became a fire and the same night, when I got home, I bought my first camera! My Nikon D5300!!
To be honest, I didn’t know back then, that I wanted to become a wedding photographer. I just wanted to go everywhere with my camera and take photos of almost everything I see! After many hours of studying and trying different types of photography, such us landscape photography, street photography etc, I realised that people inspire me more than anything else. At first, I focused on street photography, something that I still do in my free time (when I have !). I like to combine the architecture with human element. If you are interested in street photography visit @mystreetscope on instagram, a personal profile, in which I upload street photography content, exclusively. Street Photography taught me a lot and really changed my perspective in life. One of the most valuable assets I gained from street photography was observation. This has increased my ability in wedding photography to capture candid moments and be in the right place at the right time.
But how did I manage to become a wedding photographer?
Giannis, a very good friend of mine and also a photographer, asked me a few years ago to take photos of his brother’s wedding, which was my very first wedding.“This is it”, I said! “This is the kind of photographer I want to be!'" The wedding was full of emotions and joy. Everyone was so happy and I was honoured to be a part of this special day. It was magical to be the one that made these emotions last a lifetime, through my photos!
This is how I started. After that wedding, I took aim on wedding and portrait photography only and finally I created my personal style, which is a blend of capturing raw emotions and carefully curated compositions.
Personally, I believe that every wedding is a unique love story. A story that should be narrated by the wedding photographer. The wedding photographer should be a story teller that understands couple’s unique chemistry and vision.
““Dedicated to my friend Giannis who is no longer with us.
Thank you my friend for the trust and appreciation! You gave me the opportunity to make my dreams come true!“”
